Abu Dhabi Indian School, which is the best public school in the Gulf, could well be carefully a twin of this youthful nation which came into being in the year 1971. The school began working in the year 1975 from the humble premises of the India Social Centre, Abu Dhabi, to cater to the needs of the children of the Indian community in Abu Dhabi.
As the strength of students grew, the need for new premises became evident. Mr. Mohan Jashanmal, CEO of Jashanmal National Co., and members of the community were instrumental in pending the late President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan with this in view. He generously gifted a plot of land, measuring 175mx 150m, in Shabia Muroor, New Airport Road, to the Indian Ambassador to build an educational institution.
The school was moved to the sprawling new premises in the year 1980. It has been functioning effectively for the past 42 years and has distinguished itself in various areas. Our students have distinguished themselves in various fields and are well-placed in life not only in India but in different parts of the world.
The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, India (C.B.S.E Delhi, India affiliation No. 6630004) and is recognized and licensed by the Ministry of Education, Private Section, Abu Dhabi Zone (Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. License No: 37).
The school prepares students for the All India School Senior Certificate Exam at the end of grade 12.

School Medical Room:
ADIS Medical Room consists of Six BLS Certified and Licensed Registered Nurses to provide First Aid. We work during normal hours. We administer emergencies as they arise within the school and make appropriate arrangements for students who feel sick.
- Medical Room Equipment:
The Medical Room is well equipped as per the Health Authority Requirements. Basic First Aid Kits are also located in high-risk areas such as Laboratories and Swimming pools. As per HAAD, we provide first aid kits for trips.
- Emergency Arrangements:
In the event of serious accidents, an emergency service will be arranged at once and the parents are contacted immediately. A teacher or a nurse accompanies the patient to the Hospital Emergency Department. In case of less serious injuries, a parent is advised to take their child from school for further treatment.
- Policies Of Medical Room:
Students can visit the medical Room for any injuries or illnesses during school hours with permission from the teacher. Every visit made by a student is properly recorded, and the observation sheet is filled and filed in the medical file as per HAAD policy.
It is the parent’s responsibility to inform the school if their child is suffering from any diseases or on any medication and to give full detailed information in the Medical Form.
- Vaccination:
SEHA Nurses visit the school year to vaccinate Grade 1 Boys & Girls -DT, Polio, and MMR, Grade 9 Girls & Boys – Rubella, Grade 11 Girls – HPV, and Grade 11 Boys & Girls – DT, Polio, All free of cost.
